Written by guest contributor: Kathleen Crane
Nowadays many people prefer to throw away their old furniture, instead of trying to find another purpose for it at their homes. It is true that there is already a great diversity of new items that will ideally fit into your home environment and can be combined in an immaculate way with the decorations in the rooms. However, repurposing furniture is not only about saving up money, but also for delivering yourself the pleasure of ameliorating your creative skills. Of course, it will be much easier to buy all the gadgets brand new and untouched but throwing away the unused furniture will deprive you from having the chance to experiment with the ideas for the rearranging of your rooms.
It is more than exciting to see a piece of furniture that had been transformed into something useful and unique. You do not need to be an expert in repurposing to come up with the greatest ideas and if you are still in the search for outstanding ideas, take a look at the following tips:

Turn Your Old Desk Into Two Separate Nightstands
If you are a possessor of those antique desks and you still wonder whether you should throw them away, I suggest you change your mind. In case you want to create something useful, you can cut the desk to make ideally looking nightstands. Of course, the process requires certain equipment and precision in detail because you need to remove the central drawer from the bureau, however, you can always ask a friend to give you a helping hand in this activity. You can paint the new nightstands in a colour that would fit the decorations in the bedroom.

From Cabinet Door to Kitchen Organize
If you wonder what to do with your cabinet door and you want to make a better organization in your kitchen, why not repurposing your unused door into something useful? You will be able to arrange the knifes, spoons and other equipment in an easy so that they could be at your disposal, whenever you need them. If you you are not satisfied with the colour of the cabinet door, you can always repaint it, or at least half of it. To bring the joy into your kitchen, do not hesitate to experiment with the sparkling colours, as long as they fit into the kitchen design.

From Ordinary Chair to Food Table for Your Lovely Pet
This unique idea is particularly suitable for owners of dogs who want to create innovative food tables for them. If you have at least two wooden chairs at your disposal, you can easily turn them into pets furniture. Many people are not keen on the idea of letting the food and water bowls on the floor and search for alternative ways in which to change that. The good news is that you only need 2 chairs to realize this project and to make the process of eating more comfortable for your dog. Cut the holes into the centre of the chair's seat and situate the food and water bowls.
Now that you are already acquainted with these fresh and outstanding ideas for the repurpose of your furniture you can also demonstrate your creative skills and to add your own innovations. Do not give up, even if you find it difficult at the beginning. Experiment with the ideas that you have for your old or unused furniture and make your inexpensive DIY project. Lastly, do not forget to clean the space, after you have finished with all the decorations and rearrangements.
