{DIY} Christmas Truck Shirt for my Son

Today's post is so special, we made a christmas truck shirt for our son to wear on his Christmas program.
I purchased this red long-sleeve shirt for only $4.
The rest of the decorations are already in hand - leftover christmas fabric, black fabric, buttons, green felt & gold sequin fabric (the same one that i used on my "give thanks" on our thanksgiving table).

We started with the truck shape, that The Mr. free handed then was cut.  While he was doing that, I also cut a christmas tree shape using a green felt.

Then I serged the truck to avoid fraying.
Then I used heat 'n bond iron on adhesive at the back of the truck to adhere it to the red shirt. (looking like this at the back)
While ironing the truck onto the shirt, I inserted the christmas tree to where that it would look like it was loaded on the truck.  I used a fabric glue to adhere the felt christmas tree to the shirt.
The two buttons were sewn onto the black round fabric before it was adhered to the shirt using fabric glue.

Then finally adhered his name onto the shirt.
And we have this wonderful {diy} Christmas Truck Shirt for our son!
This is super fun to make and my son cannot wait to wear it on his Christmas program!

What do you think?  Hope you like it or you will try your own version of it.

There are a lot of way better tutorial out there than what I have here.  And special thanks to my inspiration in making this shirt possible, this photo that I found from etsy that sells for $28.  Thank you!
