Featured Home: Kitchen-Dining Area

Today’s featured reader’s home is the kitchen-dining area of Angelica from Decora Y Adora.  She is a civil engineer, a mother of 5 and a housewife that lives in Chile.
 decora y adora
She has a very beautiful home that I was not able to resist the urge for me to ask her if I can feature her home and lucky me, she said “YES”.

So here we go…

This holiday season, she had her son draw a Christmas tree on the chalkboard by the dining area.
So lovely and a very talented son.
And if you will look closely, those dining chairs are "different but the same" if you know what I mean.
Very practical and smart for her to use what she already has.
And if you look outside from the kitchen-dining area, she has very nice view too.
Lovely right? And let's not forget her kitchen area itself.
Oh yeah, I'll trade my kitchen with hers, why not? huh :)
white cabinets, stainless appliance, lots of counterspace and very functional....
what's your favorite on this feature?

Thank you very much for allowing me to post your kitchen-dining area Angelica!
You should check her blog out to see more of her awesome decorating and diy works!

i hope you had fun with this little tour of Angelica's home because i did!

My Daughter's Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

First, I would like to sincerely apologize for my long hibernation period.
December is one of my busiest months because aside from Christmas and New Year,
it is also my daughter's birthday.

I am just so excited to show you her Minnie Mouse Birthday Party!
Even before I finished all the decorations, she looks so happy already!

A closer look of my daughter's Minnie Mouse Birthday table.
In the next few days, I will be showing you all the details of this party.
The lollipop plate, the sweets vase, and the cupcake that I made.

I hope you all had a wonderful and Merry Christmas celebration in your homes.

The Reason for The Season

In this busy world of ours and crazy shopping schedule,
lets us not all forget of today's
Reason for the Season..
Let's us all remember when Jesus was born and was placed in a manger.

I would personally pray with my family to give thanks to all the blessing that we have received
and to remember to be always humble.

Merry Christmas to y'all!!!

3D Christmas Star

Learned myself how to make a 3D star online from Christmas Pages and so I tried to make one.
If you're interested on how I made this, continue reading below...

I first cut 6 squares, using a two different Christmas wrapping paper by gluing different paper back to back.
Folded the paper corner to corner. (ignore the ruler on top because I just used it to hold the paper still while taking this picture)
Then fold the paper again, from left corner to right corner like the picture below.
As shown below, start cutting the paper but don't cut all the way through.
Continue cutting until you're way down to the bottom left corner of the paper, see below.
When unfolding the paper, it should look like this.
Begin from the inner triangles while overlapping each other - glue them together, as in the picture below.
(i just used a tape to adhere the ends together)
And then flip the paper so you can glue the next two triangles together.
Continue turning and gluing until all the triangles are glued together and end the end will look like this.
I did the same process to all the 6 squares, here's when I finished four.
When I got done with all 6 squares, I stapled them all together making a star.
And there's my 3D Christmas Star.
I hung it on the ceiling above our stairs.
hope you like it, i really like it! :)

My Heart and Prayers

So, so sad with the Connecticut shooting Friday....
I just can't get over how could somebody do something like that?
...so sad
Crazy world we are living in today....I cried...

My heart and prayers goes to the kids that have lost their lives....may they rest in peace...
and for the families that are mourning for their loss....may they have the strength to move on...

Prayers for us all...

I just want to hug and kiss my kids all the time...
Makes me want to cry again...

Be careful everyone....

More Christmassy Letters

Because I was so happy with the DIY: "JOY" banner that I did a couple of days ago,
it made me decide to make more "Christmassy" letters.

So glad that I did it again because they look so nice in my home.
Started with these boring letters.
Did the same process that I've done on my DIY: "JOY" banner, and I had this:
and this:
This time it was not a banner-like, just put tape at the back of it
so I can place it on my wall.

yay!!

DIY: Boot Inserts

So what do you do with your cardboard wrapping paper rolls?
Throw it away? No, you can use it as a boot insert!
Just cut the long cardboard into two,
then I covered it with a nice wrapping paper just to make it look pretty :)
Insert your new boot inserts inside your boots and voila!
This simple DIY: Boot Inserts will:
* make your boots stand tall
* prevents your boots from bending
* prevents causing stress on the leather that will eventually crease or crack your boots...

Just by using boot inserts!!
