Not so...Fridge Magnets

In our old house, we used to put all our fridge magnets in the refrigerator door like they should be.
They are from places we've been to.

But when we moved to our current house in March this year,
those fridge magnets never made to the refrigerator door.

Why?
Because I just realized how clutter-looking they are on the refrigerator door.

But I don't want to get rid of those because they have meaning to our lives.
It remind us of the places that we've been to.

So I came up with an idea, instead of putting those in the refrigerator door
or just keep it hidden in a box somewhere -
Why not make it into a wall art?! Oh, yeah!

But let's all see how much fridge magnets I have.

Really, they're not too many.

So what I did was to place it in frame by removing the glass of the frame first.

Then I arranged the magnets on the board to see how it would look like and
to adjust the spacing as necessary to look all spread out and well-arranged.

To attach the magnets to the board, I used my favorite tool of all times - glue gun.
Attach the magnets one-at-a-time.

When all was glued to the board, I was so pleased.

And here it is up on the wall by the kitchen.

Now that looks pretty and organized :)

  8. Hi There!
I stumbled on your blog entry about fridge magnets and this wonderful magnet display idea.

Everyone loves magnets and with the new refrigerators that have cabinet to non metal surfaces, it has become a problem for so many people to display their fridge magnet collections.

One additional idea that I might offer to this terrific idea, Rea, is to have a piece of sheet metal cut at your local Home Dept, Lowe's or supply store to the size of your frame. You can then paint it and put it back in the frame. You can now have a magnetic surface so you can move and change your magnets...just like you did on the fridge.

    Happy Holidays!

    1. yeah! that too! your idea is better than mine because you can move or change out your magnets around, unlike mine it is kind of permanent..
