DIY: Bench Makeover

There is really nothing wrong with my bench that we used as additional dining table seating.

But I just want to dress it up a little bit, just to try my new heavy duty stapler...really :)

Here's the bench before I did the makeover.

You agree with me, right?  the bench looks fine...

The cover that I used was a shower curtain.
I thought that it would withstand the test of water in the shower,
then it could withstand all different kind of spills from the dining table - not from me or from mr.
but from our two kids :)

I just lay the bench on top of the shower curtain so that I know how much I need to cut,
plus around 6 inches extra.

The I started stapling the shower curtain to the bench without disassembling the bench.
Super E-A-S-Y!

Until I finally have to staple the corners, then it became a little tricky.
I just fold the shower curtain like wrapping a gift.

After around 30-45 minutes, I was finally done!

I'm so happy that the corners look nice and tight too.

And then here's some fun shots with my little model!
For some reason, my daughter don't want to sit in the middle, idk why? :)

And let's not forget the before and after picture.

What about you? Did you make something just so you can try your new tool?
Tell me about it...

  2. Oh my goodness. That model of yours is ADORABLE. What a brilliant idea to use a shower curtain. I bet it will clean up really well, much better than fabric. And, you must be really good at wrapping presents :). Your bench looks great.
